It was stressed during the meeting that programs and measures aimed at the realization of the State Program for Strengthening Gender Equality in Ukraine had been approved in all regions. Furthermore, it was stressed that financing of the measures had been approved (local budget for 2008 makes provision to the amount of 2,37 mln UAH; for 2009 2,819 mln UAH; for 2010 3,15 mln UAH). Also coordinated councils on family, gender equality, demographic development, fight against human trafficking matters are being created, informational and educational work is being conducted.
As a result of discussion, the Committee has decided to recommend the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports livens up the work on the realization of Guidelines of Parliamentary Hearings and strengthen coordination of ministries and other central bodies of executive power measures aimed at the introduction of gender equality.
